Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 976 - Vienna, Virginia

Citizenship. Character. Personal Fitness. Leadership. STEM.

Please sign up your child for Cub Scouts!  Pack 976, which is chartered by Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish (OLGC), is inviting boys and girls in kindergarten through 5th grade to join the Cub Scouts.

When you join Cub Scouting, you're signing them up for much more than an after-school activity. Whether it's camping or catching a fish for the first time, your child will take part in activities that are fun, but that also build character, citizenship, and personal fitness, and start them on a path to success. To learn more about Scouting, visit BEASCOUT.ORG, watch this video, and check out this information pamphlet for new families.

Pack 976 welcomes all children regardless of race, ethnicity, religion or creed. Thank you for your interest in Scouting!

Please contact us with any questions at cubmasterpack976@gmail.com.

All new and returning scouts must register and sign up with our Pack. Please find registration details below.

How to Register

Please Register Now:

1. BSA Youth Application

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) application is required for NEW or TRANSFERRING scouts. Typically, all new Lion or Tiger scouts will require the BSA Youth Application. BSA will charge a new member fee of $25 (excluding Lions) along with pro-rata BSA fees for 2023. Once submitted and approved, your scout will receive their BSA ID. Please verify that your application is associated with "Pack 0976 Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church" membership. This is a critical step in starting your journey with Scouting! Once you register with BSA, please click on the link in the section below to register with the Pack.

2. Pack 976 Registration

Registration is available all year long. Please click here to register for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year and summer. Registration for all new and returning scouts for the 2023-2024 school year will be available in September. Please note that all scouts (both new and returning) must be registered with our Pack. New scouts need to complete steps 1, 2, and 3, and continuing, non-transferring scouts only need to complete steps 2 and 3.

3.Payment to our Pack

Payment to our Pack can be made via Pay Pal or by check payable to "Pack 976" to your Den leader or the Pack Treasurer. Our Pack will email you regarding the Pack payment which includes the BSA fee for 2024 and the Pack dues.

Our adult volunteers help the Pack as Den Leaders, Assistant Den Leaders, Pack Committee Members, and as extra hands at all of our activities. We encourage you to join us to help shape your child's journey through Scouting. All adult volunteers must complete both the BSA's Youth Protection Training and a background check/Virtus training through the Diocese.

We have Dens for all grade levels: Kindergarten (Lions), 1st Grade (Tigers), 2nd Grade (Wolves), 3rd Grade (Bears), 4th Grade (Webelos), and 5th Grade (Arrow of Light).

New families will be provided with information about meeting dates/times and den leader contact information upon request and also after registering. Our Pack generally meets once per month, and our Dens generally meet once per month as well. We try to schedule our activities with our busy family schedules in mind!

Cub Scout uniforms may be purchased online at ScoutShop.org or in person at the Northern Virginia Scout Shop (Springfield, VA), at Casual Adventure (Arlington, VA), or at the National Capital Scout Shop (Bethesda, MD). The Scout Shops provide sewing and patch placement services for a small fee.
